    Norwegian retail cooperative

    Coop Norge is a Norwegiancooperative. It is owned by local cooperatives with approximately 2 million members.[1] The company has its headquarters in Oslo.

    History

    The first cooperative store in Norway was opened in the s[citation needed] and, on 27 June , a group of 28 cooperatives formed the NKL (Norges Kooperative Landsforening, "Norwegian Cooperative Association") to act as a wholesaler for its members. The next year, it joined the International Co-operative Alliance.

    NKL acquired the Norwegian Margarine Factory (Margarinfabrikken Norge) in Bergen in ; it later purchased other margarine factories in Oslo and Bodø. It purchased a cigarette factory in and a coffee plant in During the s, it began production of shoes and flour; during the s, it added chocolate and light bulbs as well as Cooperative Insurance (Samvirke Forsikring). NKL opened the first self-serve store in Norway on 1 October and, in , the law was changed to permit cooperatives to open branch stores and to sell goods to non-members.     Coop is a chain of consumer co-operative owned grocery stores in Sweden, organised under Kooperativa Förbundet (KF). Coop landet AB coordinates purchasing, marknadsföring and shared services for the chain's approximately stores,[1] which are owned and operated bygd local consumer organisations or their franchisees.[2] The current Coop brand was introduced by KF in , replacing a variety of different brandings.[3][4]

    The main Swedish consumer cooperative organisation, Kooperativa Förbundet (KF), was founded in , with the organisation being a dominant player in the Swedish market throughout the 20th century. The main brand of KF stores was Konsum, though it was one among many, with many different chains existing within the KF organisation. Ahead of the merger into Coop Norden KF centralised their branding beneath the Coop name in the early s, with larger Konsum stores becoming Coop Konsum, and various hypermarket brands being centralised as Coop Forum.[4][3][5]

    Rotebrouttal&#;(fil) är en kommundel i Sollentuna kommun, Stockholms län och (sedan år ) en del av tätorten Upplands Väsby och Sollentuna. Kommundelen är indelad i de namnsatta områdena Rotebro centrum, Rotsunda, Rotsunda gård, Gillbo, Gillberga och Rotebro industriområde.[1]

    Namnen Rotebro och Rotsunda härrör från att här fanns en bro över ett sund i Jutekärret, numera Edsån. Detta var en samlingsplats vid orostider då den militära "roten" kallades in. Strax norr om ån finns kullen med fornborgen som minner om slaget vid Rotebro, där Sten Sture den äldre slogs mot danskarna.

    Ån förbinder Edssjön med sjön Norrviken och är idag en grävd kanal genom det gamla Jutekärret, som torrlades i samband med att Norrviken sänktes i mitten av talet, för att komma åt åkermark.

    Rotebro omnämns första gången som Scriptum Rodebro.[2] Rotebro var även namnet på en gästgivaregård i Sollentuna socken som fick tillstånd av Drottning Kristina att bedriva krog, härbärge och skjuts "för en billig och skälig betalning". Gästgiveriet hörde till Rotsunda gård som då ägdes av landshövdingen Johan Berndes.
